Also: GAT, Business aviation terminal
Many large airports have a dedicated general aviation area alongside the terminals for scheduled flights. Private jets, business aircraft and smaller planes are handled there.
The advantage is short distances: fewer people, a separate security check and often only a few steps to the aircraft. Security, passport and customs checks still apply, but they usually take far less time.
Smaller airfields often have no dedicated GAT. There, a handling provider or the airfield operator takes care of passengers in a shared building.
