Questions from operators

Everything on cost, payment, anonymity, empty legs, requests, notifications, team, API and flight planning.

Cost

What does PrivJet Ops cost?

Nothing. There is no subscription, no setup fee and no commission on the flight price. Every feature, including the API for your own data, is free.

Can I try PrivJet Ops first?

Yes, without signing up: the live demo at privjet.net/aircraft-operators/demo shows the real portal with sample data of a fictional operator: requests with quotes, fleet, calendar, quote calculator, flight planning, team, notifications and crew. Nothing is saved there.

How does PrivJet make money?

The client pays us a service fee of 20 % on the flight price. It is added on top and does not come out of your price. For a €10,000 flight the client pays €10,000 to you and €2,000 to PrivJet. For deals between operators (sub-charter, coming soon) the buying operator pays 3 % on top.

Do I receive my full price?

Yes. You receive the flight price you set. Only for card payments through your own Stripe account do the usual Stripe fees apply on your account. You can set a card surcharge of up to 4 % for that, which is entirely yours.

Clients and anonymity

When does the client learn who I am, and when do I learn who books?

The client only sees your name, the registration and your bank details after signing the pre-contract and paying the service fee. Requests in the marketplace are anonymous; for a booking you see the client’s name, the passenger list arrives with the payment phase and the phone number once paid.

What is the pre-contract?

An agreement between the client and PrivJet that the client signs digitally before booking (with PDF). It covers the service fee, the release of details after payment and cancellation. The contract of carriage is between the client and you.

Will I get my own website?

Yes, free of charge: a website with your fleet, your empty legs and a request form at your-name.privjet.net, with a certificate. You design it in the portal under “Website”. Requests through your site go straight to you and carry no service fee. For your existing website there is a widget, an iframe and JSON/RSS feeds of your empty legs (Website → Embed). Connecting your own domain in the same editor is coming soon. Two example sites with sample data show what it looks like: demo-editorial.privjet.net (light) and demo-midnight.privjet.net (dark).

Payment

How do I get paid?

The client pays the flight price directly to you: by bank transfer to your account (you confirm receipt with one click) or by card through your own Stripe account. PrivJet never holds your money.

Do I need Stripe?

No. Bank transfer always works. With your own Stripe account (available in 44 countries) clients can also pay by card.

Empty legs

Does PrivJet review my empty legs?

We review an operator’s first five legs manually; after that they go live immediately. Every leg also passes an automatic check: airports, date, price range, seats per class, duplicates and runway length. We look at unusual legs before they go live.

Where do my legs appear?

On privjet.net (lists, route and city pages), in the PrivJet app for iOS and Android, in our AI concierge on WhatsApp and Telegram and in our clients’ route alerts. Anyone watching a matching route is notified immediately. Your name and the registration never appear.

Can I add many legs at once?

Yes, by CSV upload in the portal or through the API. Integrations for Leon and FL3XX are in progress.

How does a repositioning flight become an empty leg?

Enter the repositioning flight in the aircraft’s calendar and choose “List as empty leg”, either when adding it or later. Type and seats come from the aircraft; you set the price or leave it open (“on request”).

Who sees my fleet’s registrations?

Only you and your team. Clients see the registration only after paying the service fee. Photos of your aircraft are never published automatically.

Can I see how my empty legs perform?

Yes. Under “Statistics” you see per leg the page views, the requests (signed pre-contracts) and the bookings for 7, 30 or 90 days, plus an anonymous market comparison once at least five other operators had views. We count without bots, cookies or personal data. The same figures are available through the API.

Do I have to keep two calendars?

No. Add the iCal link (.ics) of your existing calendar per aircraft, for example from your ops software, Google Calendar or Outlook. Busy times appear in your fleet calendar every 30 minutes and are read-only there; change them in your own calendar. The other way round, you subscribe to the PrivJet calendar (fleet, your legs, confirmed bookings without customer data) through a secret link you can renew at any time.

Can I send legs by email or WhatsApp?

Yes. Send a list, PDF or screenshot from your login address to [email protected], or as a message on your connected WhatsApp or Telegram channel. Or paste everything in the portal under “Import legs”. We extract the legs and send you a link; only what you confirm goes live.

Requests

Which requests do I see in the marketplace?

Every open charter request departing within 2,500 km of your base or operating area for which your fleet has enough seats. We additionally email the best-matching operators directly.

How does a quote work?

In the portal (or through the API) you enter price and aircraft, with a note if you like. The client can choose the quote right away; they only see aircraft, class and price, no names and no registration. Until the deadline you can update or withdraw it. If the client chooses your quote, you receive the award with a link to add registration, crew and payment method; everyone else receives a short decline. If you prefer, enter everything at once in the full form.

Can I send my client a quotation as PDF?

Yes. In the quote calculator, one click turns the result into a PDF under your company name with your contact details: flights with date and flight time, aircraft, price (itemised if you like), validity and your note. Registration, positioning flights, your margin and our estimates are not in it. You can adjust the final price first. A small “Created with PrivJet Ops” line sits in the footer.

How does the quote calculator work?

Flight time per leg as in our public calculators (great circle plus airways, typical cruise speed of the class, fuel stops), plus positioning from and to your base, minimum hours, fees per departure and landing, crew overnights, extras and margin. Without your own values we use typical values for the class and mark them as estimates.

Notifications

Which channels can notify me?

Email, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS and push in the PrivJet app. Each team member chooses channels and quiet hours per event group (requests and bookings, utilisation tips, operations, account). Phone numbers are verified by code, Telegram by link.

Can I reply to a message directly?

Yes, on WhatsApp and Telegram: “1” confirms (you receive the link to the form, because registration, crew and payment are required), “2” declines, a price such as “12,500 EUR” is recorded as a quote. “STOP” pauses, “START” switches back on.

Do text messages cost anything?

No. Each operator has 100 text messages a month included for urgent items, such as a booking request departing within 48 hours. Everything else arrives by email, WhatsApp, Telegram or push.

What are utilisation tips?

Hints where you can sell more: a leg without requests for days (with the route’s market average), a leg departing soon, a repositioning flight not yet listed, clients watching routes from where your aircraft is available. Collected at 8 am your local time by default.

Team

Is PrivJet Ops available as an app?

Yes, in the PrivJet app for iOS and Android. Sign in with your operator account and the operator area appears in your profile: charter requests (including quick quotes), your empty legs, bookings, the fleet calendar and the briefing. Turn on push messages for new requests and bookings in the portal under notifications. What you can do follows your team role, as in the portal.

Can my whole team work in it?

Yes, at no extra cost. Roles: admin (everything including team and keys), sales (requests, quotes, bookings), ops (fleet, calendar, legs) and read-only. One person can be on call and always receives urgent items.

Is there crew planning with duty times?

Yes: a crew list with documents and expiry reminders (60, 30 and 7 days before) plus duty and rest time warnings under the rule set of your choice (EASA ORO.FTL, UK CAA or FAA Part 135). These are warnings, not a certified FTL system. Your operations manual prevails. Simplified: crew are treated as acclimatised to their base, without extensions or split duty; air taxi operations are often subject to national rules.

API

Is the API really free?

For your own data, yes: empty legs, fleet, calendar, open requests, bookings and webhooks. Only our broker API with market data of other providers is paid.

Is there a limit?

Yes, a generous limit per key against abuse. You create keys in the portal under “API & webhooks” and can revoke them at any time.

Flight planning

Where does the briefing data come from?

Runways, elevation and lighting from OurAirports, NOTAMs from the FAA SWIM service (international), weather (METAR/TAF) from aviationweather.gov, daylight times calculated, FBOs from our verified list.

Does the briefing replace my flight planning?

No. It is an overview from public data using rules of thumb. It is not meant for flight planning or navigation. Your flight manual, performance calculation, official NOTAMs and aviation weather briefing prevail.

Data and cancellation

Can I export my data?

Yes, at any time: your empty legs as CSV (same columns as the CSV import, plus status and link) and your fleet calendar as CSV, in the portal or through the API. Your data belongs to you.

How does PrivJet know where my aircraft are?

From public ADS-B data that every aircraft transmits. Aircraft with an opt-out request are not shown anywhere, not even in the portal.

What happens to my data, and can I cancel?

Your data stays yours: fleet, registrations and bank details are visible only to your team, or to the client after payment. You can stop at any time; you export legs and calendar yourself as CSV, and on request we export or delete all your data (GDPR).

Can I see who changed something in our account?

Yes. Under Team → Activity log, your team admins see every change with its time: by members, by your API keys and every time PrivJet support accesses your account, even just to look. The log is deleted after 24 months.

How does PrivJet protect my crew’s data?

We process crew data as a processor on your behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). Contact details and passport numbers are stored encrypted, only the class and expiry of medicals, and documents are stored privately and only accessible through short-lived links. Only admins and operations staff of your team see crew data, not sales, read-only users or API keys.

Coming soon

Can I request aircraft from other operators?

Coming soon: sub-charter between operators, anonymous until booking and handled entirely through PrivJet. The buying operator pays 3 % on top; the selling operator receives the full price.

Can clients book directly on my website?

Coming soon: you switch on online booking in the editor, add the link to your charter terms and connect Stripe. Every empty leg with a price then shows “Book online”. The client signs a booking request with you, you confirm, then they pay by card straight into your Stripe account. PrivJet charges no fee, and your clients don’t enter our sales channel.

Who decides on cancellations for online bookings and sub-charter?

You do, under your own terms. If a client (or, for sub-charter, the buying operator) wants to cancel after paying, you get an e-mail, a portal notice and a team message with a deadline (72 hours, at the latest before departure). You set how much goes back (0–100 %, with a short reason below 100 %), and PrivJet then refunds that amount automatically through Stripe from your account to the card. If you cancel yourself, you decide in the same step. PrivJet never decides for you. For sub-charter you state your cancellation rules in the quote; the 3 % fee is refunded in the same proportion.

Does PrivJet Ops work with Leon or FL3XX?

If your software publishes a calendar as an iCal link, connect it per aircraft today. Busy times then arrive automatically every 30 minutes. A direct connection to Leon and FL3XX with your own credentials (legs, fleet) and an export for Avinode are in progress. CSV and the API already work.
