Very Light Jet

Very light jets are the smallest jets in business aviation and typically seat four to five passengers on short sectors.

Also: VLJ, Entry-level jet

Typical models are the Cessna Citation Mustang and the Embraer Phenom 100. Range is typically around 2,000 to 2,400 kilometres, depending on payload, wind and reserves.

Very light jets suit routes within central Europe, such as Stuttgart to Vienna or Zurich to Hamburg. They can also use smaller airfields with shorter runways.

The cabin is compact, without stand-up height, and luggage space is limited. For short business trips with light bags, that is rarely a drawback.
