Tail number lookup for private jets

Who owns a private jet? Enter its tail number (an N-number such as N628TS, a registration like G-XXXX, with or without the hyphen) or its ICAO 24-bit address and go straight to the jet. Below, browse every business jet our tracker has recorded by owner, operator or type. Owner details come from public aircraft registries and may be outdated.

Tail number lookup FAQ

How do I find out who owns a private jet?

Enter its tail number above. The jet’s page shows the registered owner from the public aircraft registry and, where the callsign reveals it, the operator. Owners are often leasing or trust companies rather than the people who use the jet.

What is an N-number?

That is the tail number of an aircraft registered in the United States: it starts with “N” (e.g. N628TS). UK registrations start with “G-”, German ones with “D-”, Swiss ones with “HB-”.

Do I need to type the hyphen?

No. “GXXXX”, “G XXXX” and “G-XXXX” lead to the same jet. The six-character ICAO 24-bit address (hex code) works too.

Why can’t I find a tail number?

We only list business jets our tracker has seen via ADS-B. Owners can also ask, through the US LADD programme or a removal request to us (privjet.net/en/private-jet-tracker/remove), for their jet not to be shown.

Fly the same jet type as an empty leg

Challenger, Citation or Gulfstream: when jets reposition without passengers, operators often sell the seats at a steep discount.

Data sources & notes

Data source: public ADS-B data

All positions come from publicly broadcast ADS-B signals that every aircraft transmits unencrypted and that volunteers around the world receive. Data may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate.

Linking an aircraft to a well-known person is based on public sources such as media reports and registry data. "Jet attributed to X" explicitly does not mean that this person is on board or ordered the flight. Aircraft are also chartered, sold or used by others.

All information is provided without warranty; no liability is accepted for accuracy or completeness. CO₂ figures are estimates based on typical fuel burn for the aircraft class.

Using this data to harass, track or stalk people is prohibited.
