Trust-registered private jets
Only US citizens and US companies may register an aircraft on the US registry. Foreign owners and anyone who wants to stay anonymous therefore use an owner trust: a bank such as Bank of Utah or Wilmington Trust is registered as trustee.
The beneficial owner then does not appear in the public registry. A single trustee can stand for hundreds of jets owned by corporations, sovereign funds and individuals from around the world.

FAQ: Trusts
How many private jets are in the “Trusts” category?
Our tracker has recorded 2,311 jets whose registered owner falls into this category. Together they made 28,535 flights in the last 30 days.
Which owners in the “Trusts” category fly the most?
By flights in the last 30 days, the leaders are: TVPX AIRCRAFT SOLUTIONS INC TRUSTEE (10,706), BANK OF UTAH TRUSTEE (5,316) and WILMINGTON TRUST CO TRUSTEE (1,215).
Which aircraft types are most common in the “Trusts” category?
Most often recorded: Gulfstream G650 (154), Gulfstream G550/GV (142) and Pilatus PC-12 (116).
Why is Bank of Utah the owner of so many private jets?
Bank of Utah is one of the largest aircraft trustees on the US registry. It is registered as owner so that foreign or anonymous owners can operate their jet with a US registration (“N-number”). The bank has nothing to do with operating the aircraft.
How accurate is the classification?
We classify owners automatically from the name in the aircraft registry, for example “Trustee” for trusts or “LLC” for companies. Outdated registry entries, leasing or unusual names can lead to wrong assignments in individual cases.
Can I have an entry corrected or removed?
Yes. Use the form at privjet.net/en/private-jet-tracker/remove with the registration and your reason. We review removal requests and corrections promptly.
Fly the same jet type as an empty leg
Challenger, Citation or Gulfstream: when jets reposition without passengers, operators often sell the seats at a steep discount.
Data sources & notes
Data source: public ADS-B data
All positions come from publicly broadcast ADS-B signals that every aircraft transmits unencrypted and that volunteers around the world receive. Data may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate.
Linking an aircraft to a well-known person is based on public sources such as media reports and registry data. "Jet attributed to X" explicitly does not mean that this person is on board or ordered the flight. Aircraft are also chartered, sold or used by others.
All information is provided without warranty; no liability is accepted for accuracy or completeness. CO₂ figures are estimates based on typical fuel burn for the aircraft class.
Using this data to harass, track or stalk people is prohibited.
